本機は4K/HDRコンテンツの魅力を余すところなく再現するため、ブルーレイディスクプレーヤーのフラッグシップモデル「DP-UB9000」の設計思想を受け継ぎ、さらに大きく進化させました。DP-UB9000と同等の高剛性・低重心筐体を採用し、専用ドライブベースでハードディスクの振動を大幅に低減するとともに、新開発の強力な電源回路（デジタル・ドライブ独立型）と、クロック精度を高めつつノイズ対策を徹底した新デジタル回路により、画質や音質に影響を与える振動、ノイズ、クロックジッターを徹底して低減しました。またDP-UB9000に搭載した高精度「HDRトーンマップ」技術^（※2）を採用し、加えてHDR映像の調整機能を強化すると共に、新4K衛星放送で放映される映画やドラマなどをオリジナルのフレームレートに変換する4K/24p、30p変換出力を実現しました^（※3）。さらに業界で初めて^（※4）新4K衛星放送の22.2ch音声を立体音響技術「Dolby Atmos^®（ドルビーアトモス）」に変換して出力する事により、ご家庭で立体的な音場空間を再現することを可能にしました。加えて、室内照明が暗いAVルームでのご視聴に合わせて視聴中の操作GUIのデザインを最適化し、DP-UB9000で好評をいただいているバックライト付リモコンも採用しています。
