　With the goal of establishing a shipping management system and a sustainable business model for UAV safe flight, the company has carried out a large number of empirical experiments on UAV logistics. The most recent one was in March 2021, the demonstration of the conflict avoidance system of multiple drones undertaking various services was carried out in Bomo-cho, Hyogo Prefecture, and the demonstration of UAV logistics was carried out in Shimoto City, Hyogo Prefecture in October of the same year. In February 2022, an empirical experiment on pharmaceutical distribution was successfully carried out over three bridges, including Nagai Bridge, which was erected in Sumitagawa, Tokyo, as the flight path.

　Going back to its roots, it began to use Internet-connected drones like smartphones in 2016, which was the beginning of the career. In the following year, fully automated flight was successfully achieved through mobile communications in 2017. In addition, since 2020, Ina City, Nagano Prefecture has launched the country's first local government-run drone distribution service, realizing the service of long-term drone logistics. From the beginning of about a year and a half now, the service is still continuing, accident-free use.

　In addition, in parallel with UAV logistics, the New Energy and Industrial Technology Integrated Development Agency (NEDO) has been entrusted to develop a number of UAV flying shipping management systems, and carried out empirical experiments throughout the country. This is not only limited to logistics, but also envisions the use of level 4 visual flight of multiple UAVs in various services. KDDI has been committed to applying UAVs to various infrastructure maintenance in addition to UAV logistics. Based on the experience developed by these measures, this publication has finally entered the stage of real use of drones.
