――What kind of work is Mr. Ise currently doing?

Mr. Ise : My main job is as a producer, such as running a laughing app called "Bokete with photos" and running a YouTube channel. He also runs the "Hybrid Office Workers Club," an online salon that supports office workers amid various changes in work styles, such as the lifting of the ban on side businesses. He moved to Miyota Town, Nagano Prefecture two years ago and is now working fully remotely.

――How do you think the way you work at Korona-ka has changed?

Mr. Ise : Perhaps the biggest change is that remote meetings have become commonplace. I moved to April 2020, just around the time the state of emergency was declared. I had decided to move for a long time, and I expected to work remotely to some extent regardless of the Korona-ka, but more than I expected, customers and colleagues have become able to respond remotely, and it works a lot. It's easier.

However, I think there was a big difference in IT literacy at the beginning. There were quite a few things like "Manager, I don't have a microphone" (laughs). I think it's only recently that everyone has become accustomed to that.

Mr. Ise : We often received inquiries about how to install online meeting software, what kind of camera is suitable, and how to install it in the conference room. The number of companies around me who want to be able to respond online is increasing. Even in the so-called traditional industry, meetings are usually held online. I think that is the situation.

――You said that you are currently working at full remote control. Is there anything that you expected or did not expect when you actually tried it?

Mr. Ise : At first, I expected that there would be meetings even offline, and I was planning to have meetings in Tokyo 3 times a week and Nagano 4 times a week. However, the fact is that there was a Korona-ka and there were almost no meetings in Tokyo, and it became Nagano 7 times a week (laughs).

Will more companies practice full remote?

――I think that in the future, there will be a need for major changes in the way companies should be in terms of working styles. What are your thoughts on this area?

Mr. Ise : One of the companies I'm currently an officer of is an SNS marketing company with about 40 employees, but I became a Korona-ka and changed it to full remote completely according to the company policy. There are only 8 seats in the office. So, in the first place, not everyone can enter the office. Instead of having no seats in the office, we provide allowances and worcation allowances to improve the working environment at home. It became a policy to use it and work in a free place. There are some movements like this even at major companies, but I have an impression that there are still few, so I hope it will increase.

――There are still few full remotes, and it gives you the impression that you will work in the future. What are the PC specifications and work environment required for new work styles that will change in the future?

Mr. Ise : It's a story compared to PCs that are introduced all at once by so-called companies, but first of all, it is compact. And being able to connect to the network anywhere. Also, there are a lot of people who say, "You can't work without joining the company's intranet." So, is that kind of security secure? Another point to keep in mind is the battery life and light weight. Considering carrying it around, I think it is important that it is light and does not burden the movement.

――What is your commitment when choosing a notebook PC?

Mr. Ise : Personally, the point is "whether you can work comfortably" such as touching the keyboard. However, in my case, I also edit videos, so I want to store about 16GB of memory, have a graphic board, and have specifications necessary for business.

However, you don't need that much specs for normal office work. After that, it is surprisingly important whether or not there is an in-camera. I'd like to have an in-camera because I'd like to open it up and have an online meeting as it is.

Also, as a personal idea, I want to get rid of the crowded trains. Of course, there are companies such as key workers who need to commute or who are more efficient when they come to work.
