Skullcandy's first completely wireless earphone "Push", check the actual device and sound quality immediately!
On February 20, Skullcandy Japan LLC (Skullcandy) announced the company's first fully wireless earphone "Push". The suggested retail price is 12,900 yen (excluding tax), and it will be released on March 15th. I had a chance to touch and listen to the actual machine at the recital, so I will deliver my impressions.
Push's body is long and thin, maybe a little bigger? When attached to the ear, the feature is that it looks like an elongated circle. When you take out the earphones from the earphone case with a built-in battery, pairing with a playback device such as a smartphone automatically starts, and when you put the earphones away, the power automatically turns off. Even if the battery in the earphone case runs out, the power is turned off when the earphones are put away.
I connected iPhone 8 with SBC and listened to music on Spotify (highest quality setting). When you play club music, you can feel the Skullcandy's bursting bass in your ears. I thought that the view of the midrange was also good. If anything, it's more low-end, but it's well-balanced from mid-range to high-end, and it seems to go well with J-POP.
However, the only codec that supports SBC is SBC, so it may be unsatisfactory for users who want to enjoy music on an AAC-compatible iPhone or an aptX-compatible music player.
Push's product concept is "sound without boundaries". Skullcandy also appealed for the lack of sound interruptions in the left and right earphones. The antenna is placed on the top of the earphone body to stabilize the left and right connectivity. I tried listening at the venue of the presentation where Bluetooth was flying, but the sound was not interrupted. It seems that you can enjoy music firmly even when you ride a crowded train to work or school.
Equipped with physical buttons on the side of the main unit, volume control and song forwarding are possible. Since it has a built-in microphone, you can answer incoming calls by connecting it to your smartphone (the other party's voice can only be heard on the left side). While connected to a compatible device, press either the left or right button three times in succession to launch Siri or Google Assistant.
In order to improve the wearability on the ear, a proprietary fin "Secure FitFin" is available. The eartips also have a uniquely developed Fujitsubo shape, making them difficult to fall off even during vigorous movements. It's water resistant, so you can use it while exercising without worrying about sweating.

The color is Psychotropical Teal only. The weight of the earphone body is 16g (both ears). The Bluetooth version is 4.2, the playback frequency band is 20Hz to 20,000Hz, and the impedance is 16Ω. The earphone itself can play continuously for up to 6 hours. If you use the included earphone case, you can fully charge the earphone body once. We also have a warranty system (up to 2 years) that allows you to purchase a new package for 60% to 70% of the normal price even if you lose only one side of the earphone or only the charging case.
According to Skullcandy, true wireless earbuds already account for 30-40% of the audio market. Considering that completely wireless earphones gained explosive popularity in 2018, Skullcandy feels a little late, but that's because we pursued "Skullcandy quality". It is a product that can be recommended not only for Skullcandy fans, but also for users who are particular about fashion.
